FAQ - Forge IndoorUpdated a day ago
What type of sauna is the Forge Indoor?
A traditional Finnish dry sauna, not infrared. The Harvia® Vega Compact heater warms the air and the sauna rocks. You can pour water over the rocks for a brief burst of steam (löyly), but the main experience is high-temperature dry heat.
Can I use it outdoors?
No. The Forge Indoor is for indoor use only. For outdoor use, see the Forge Outdoor.
What's the difference between the Forge Indoor and Forge Outdoor?
| Forge Indoor | Forge Outdoor | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it goes | Indoors only | Outdoors or indoors |
| Exterior | Black painted Canadian Hemlock | Matte black aluminum over cedar |
| Exterior size | 79" H x 43" W x 42" D | 81" H x 43" W x 41" D |
| Assembled weight | About 432 lbs | About 472 lbs |
| Crated weight | About 514 lbs | About 571 lbs |
Both use the same 3.5 kW Harvia® heater, reach the same temperatures, need the same 240V hardwired circuit, fit one person, carry the same warranty, and offer White Glove Installation for $1,300.
How hot does it get, and how long does it take to heat up?
It reaches a usable 170°F in about 25 to 45 minutes from a cold start and can go up to 200°F, powered by its 3.5 kW Harvia® heater.
Does it require an electrician?
Yes. The Forge Indoor is hardwired to a dedicated 240V circuit and must be connected by a licensed electrician. It can't be plugged into a standard outlet.
What electrical circuit does it require?
A dedicated double-pole 240V circuit, typically protected by a 20A double-pole breaker (confirm with your electrician). The heater draws 14.4A. Don't use a GFCI breaker on this circuit.
How many people does it fit?
One person, with a weight limit of about 300 lbs.
What are the dimensions and weight?
- Exterior: 6'7" H x 3'7" W x 3'6" D (2.00 x 1.10 x 1.08 m)
- Interior: 6'1" H x 3'3" W x 3'3" D (1.85 x 1.00 x 0.98 m)
- Assembled weight: about 432 lbs
- Shipping weight (crated): about 514 lbs
Where can I place it?
In a dry indoor space, on a flat, level floor that can support about 432 lbs and handle some moisture. Placing it near your electrical panel keeps the electrician's work simpler.
How difficult is setup?
About 2 hours with two adults, using basic hand tools and a power drill. The electrical connection is a separate step and must be done by a licensed electrician. To have us build it for you, add White Glove Installation ($1,300) at checkout. It doesn't include electrical work.
What is it made of?
Light-toned, low-resin Canadian Hemlock inside. The exterior is black painted Canadian Hemlock, with a full-length tempered glass door.
What accessories are included?
Sauna rocks, a bucket and ladle, thermometer, sand timer, ergonomic backrest, footrest, and a remote for the RGB ambient lighting.
How does it ship?
By LTL freight in one plywood crate (83" x 48" x 26"). Standard delivery is curbside or garage level and doesn't include moving it inside or assembly.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes. The cabin has a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The Harvia® heater has a 1-year warranty. Damage from improper installation, electrical work not done by a licensed electrician, or normal wood aging isn't covered.
Always consult a healthcare professional before adding sauna use to your routine. This is not a medical device.
